Joey's brand, Joey D, has a waiting list of clients including actor Brian Cox and Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberley.
His distinctive jackets and mini kilts made from reclaimed material have made him a favourite at the Dressed to Kilt show in New York.
Joey started as a civil engineer. He said "I'd always been interested in fashion and in 1999 set up a shop in Edinburgh. I never expected such success. One of my favourite moments was when Species star Natasha Henstridge strutted down the catwalk in one of my designs at Dressed to Kilt in 2005. I think celebrities love my clothes because they are one-offs".
